Thank you for volunteering this season. Our region appreciates you for making a difference in the children’s lives!
 In order to keep our players safe, our AYSO National organization and the State of California please complete the items below. To move through the process quickly, please complete each step entirely as some steps require email confirmation:

1. Fill out a volunteer form for yourself on our website: www.583AYSO.org
Please create your own account if someone else registered your player. Directions below:
• Click LOG-IN or REGISTER NOW
• Click on VOLUNTEER on the left column
o If on a cell phone, on the left click on the picture of a person
• Click on FIND VOLUNTEER ROLES
• Click on SELECT under the volunteer role you are volunteering for
• Be sure to input YOUR information under the division of your child
• Please provide LEGAL NAME as it appears on your California Identification
   *This step will need to be completed every season*

2. Complete a background check (NOT FOR MINORS)
Once you have completed the volunteer forms, you will receive an email from Sterling Volunteers.
Please check spam/junk if you have not received email after a few minutes.
• Complete all the information on this page
• Click on the box I WILL NOT PAY to waive $25 fee.
• Background checks clear after a few days; however, it varies with each volunteer.
 *This step will need to be completed every 12 months*

** Your background needs to show GREEN to be able to complete the next requirements**

3.  LiveScan (fingerprinting) (NOT FOR MINORS)
California volunteers need to complete this mandatory requirement. The region will provide a code to cover the fee.
You will have the choice to select the location, date, and time to complete your fingerprints.

• Click on the big red button USE MY PREPAID CODE……
• Enter your email, use the same email address from our website
• Check our email for code to Confirm your email
• Then enter the Prepaid Code
• Complete information
* At this time. you will not need to complete additional fingerprinting once you are cleared*

  

Additional Courses
• Click on the button AYSOU under you name
• You will be redirected to a new link: eTRAINu
• Click on TRAINING LIBRARY
• Under Safe Haven, click on the button VIEW COURSES

4. Safe Haven Certification
• Click on AYSO’s SAFE HAVEN (No Audio) – Online
• Click on blue button ENROLL - - > Complete the course
• PLEASE TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
 **This needs to be completed every 2 years**

5.  CDC Concussion (Complete this step in eTrainu under Safe Haven)
• Click on CDC CONCUSSION Awareness – Online
• Click on blue button ENROLL - - > Complete the course
• PLEASE TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
**This needs to be completed every 2 years**

6.  Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Complete this step in eTrainu under Safe Haven)
• Under  Simon’s Heart
• Click on Sudden Cardiac Arrest – Online
• Click on blue button START - - > Complete the course
• PLEASE TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE
 **This needs to be completed every 2 years*

   

7.  Safe Sport  (NOT FOR MINORS)

o Click on the link by the SafeSport | Or, under you name, click on the box next to SafeSport

• Click on SafeSport Trained – U.S. Soccer Federation
• PLEASE TAKE A SCREEN SHOT OF YOUR COMPLETION CERTIFICATE

8. SUMMARY of the LAWS of the GAME (Switch over to eTrainU)
• Under eTrainU
• Click on REFEREE
• Click on VIEW COURSES
• Click on AYSO’s SUMMARY of the LAWS of the Game – Online
• Click on blue button ENROLL - - > Complete the course

9. Coach Certifications (Complete steps in eTRAINu)
• Click  TRAINING LIBRARY,
• Under Coaching, Click on VIEW COURSES
• Click on the division you wish to coach
i. For 6U, under 6U Coach – Online, click on ENROLL
ii. For 8U, under 8U Coach – Online, click on ENROLL
iii. For 10U, under 10U Coaching – Online + In-Person Field Session click on ENROLL
 This must be completed before attending the in-person part
iv. For 12U, under 12U Coach Training Pre-Course (Part 1) Online click on ENROLL
This must be completed before attending the in-person part

For 8U
• Click on 8U Official Course Online (you do not need to attend an in-person course)
• You can only ever referee for 8U division, this is NOT a Regional Level Referee course

Regional Referee Companion Class
• Click on Regional Referee – In-Person Companion Course
• This is a FULL  in-person class
• YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT for the class if you do not complete ALL the pre-requisite courses listed above
• You need to sign up for this class under AYSOU
